Stargate Governance 101:
Are Board meetings open to the public? Yes! All Board meetings are open to the public. The Board generally meets once per month at the school for regular business meetings. The full meeting schedule for the 2015-2016 school year is posted on the bulletin board in front of the school and on the governance web page. The agendas are always posted on the governance website before the meeting and minutes from those meetings are posted as soon as they are approved.

If you have a question for the board, please send an email to governance@stargateschool.org.

Fall Elections:
The proposed changes to the Bylaws were not accepted because the minimum number of required votes was not achieved. You'll get another opportunity to vote during the fall elections. The Board will be available to answer questions during Curriculum Night or you can send them to governance@stargateschool.org. Your voice is critical for this vote.

Call for Volunteers:
There are a lot of opportunities to get involved with governance of the school.  The Accountability Committee and the Recruiting Committee will have elections in September to fill several open seats. The Accountability Committee is made up of parents and staff who provide support to the Board through surveys of the community and reviewing the Unified Improvement Plan for submission to the District. The Recruiting Committee helps find volunteers for committees and the Board. These are great opportunities to get experience in committees at Stargate.

Nominations are currently open and will close September 11th. Voting will occur September 21-25. Online applications are on the Election Website. If you have questions about serving on either committee, or the application, send an email to recruiting@stargateschool.org
