News from the Board:
"In case you missed it": The Board met on September 25 for it's annual strategic planning session. There they reviewed the financial reserve strategy with the Finance Committee Chair and went over the new campus project financials with the Stargate Foundation Chair, clarified the Board goals for the year and aligned committee goals with the KPI's, and participated in a team building session.

Fall Elections
Congratulations to Rob Kauffman and Sheri Collier for their election to the School Accountability Committee.

The Bylaws question on the fall election passed by a majority vote and was ratified with more that the required number of votes. The specific results are posted on the election website.

For those that voted, and turned in their completed voting sheet, we will hold a raffle for a VIP parking space, 2 tickets to the Gala or Principal for a Day. If you printed your sheet but forgot to turn it in, you have through Tuesday at 3 PM to turn in your printed sheets at the front desk. The raffle will be held on Wednesday. Good luck!

Stargate Governance 101:
Now that the Bylaws have been updated, what's different? The majority of the changes in the Bylaws were administrative. The two most significant changes were related to the Accountability Committee and the Recruiting Committee. The Accountability Committee is now known as the School Accountability Committee and is aligned with state statute requirements. They will still be responsible for monitoring the school's performance by supporting the Unified Improvement Plan, administering the school climate surveys, and providing an update and overview to the board and the community at the State of the School. The Recruiting Committee will still have an important function to find ways to engage the community in the governance of the school but will no longer need to be elected. A big thank you from the Board to the Fundraising Committee members for their work going through all of the magazine orders, cookie dough sales, and lovebag purchases. This project takes a tremendous amount of time in order to support our school!

Another big thank you from the Board to our community for participating in the fall election vote. This was the largest participation in voting since 2008.
