Update from the Board: Looking Back and Moving Forward!

Welcome to our elected board members, Calley Herzog and Brad Schoenfeld. We are very encouraged by the participation in the elections and thank all the nominees for their dedication to the school. Also, a big thanks to all of our committee leads, members, parent volunteers and our amazing administration, teachers, staff and most of all, our students. We wish our 8th graders the best of luck as they move on to their next chapter!

It’s hard to believe the school year is at its end. It’s been a year of change with a renewed focus on moving forward to make our kid’s smarter. Here are some of the key accomplishments achieved in the 2012-13 school year:

·  Established a key performance indicator framework that currently align to the mission and the administration’s goals and will eventually tie to committee’s objectives, teacher objectives and student objectives

·   Collaborated with the community to search for and hire a permanent long-term Principal for Stargate.

·    Allocated funding to incorporate new technology into the classrooms (iPads for grades K-6 and Smart Projectors for grades 7-8), purchase a new building for Band and Orchestra and resurface the soccer field over the summer.

In preparation for the 2013-14 school year, the Board will be working over the summer on the Strategic Plan, our CSSI board interviews and audit for our charter renewal and begin discussions on school expansion. As always our Board meetings are open to the public, so feel free to come and see the Board in action.
