News from the Board:
"In case you missed it": The Board met on April 16th for its regular monthly business meeting. During the meeting the Board met the buyer's representative that will be negotiating on behalf of the school for the new high school, including design and location of the building; discussed the Accountability Committee's tool to be used in its annual evaluation of the Board and tied it to the Colorado Department of Education tools used in the Board self evaluation, principal evaluation, and staff evaluations; discussed the new Community Relations webpage; reviewed and approved the election budget for the spring election; reviewed and approved the district format of the 2014-2015 school budget; discussed methods for encouraging full community support in fundraising and volunteering efforts; completed the first review of the New Board Member Orientation Policy; discussed ways to engage more community involvement in the State of the School (full presentation can be found  HERE); and reviewed recommendations from the Accountability Committee based on the community survey.

A special thank you to the staff and administration for hosting the first ever Board Visit Day on April 18th. Board members were treated to a day of demonstrations and examples on how the mission is applied in the classroom every day and were able to observe how fundraising dollars have benefited the students. This is a best practice for governing boards that will be continued going forward.

Upcoming Board Meetings:
May 28th:  Business Meeting at 6:30 PM at Stargate
June 18th:  Business Meeting at 6:30 PM at Stargate
