On April 8th the Board presented the State of the School to the community. Thanks to those who attended to hear about the results of the Community Survey, an update on the school expansion, and a Q&A session on the proposed Bylaws changes. You can see the full presentation HERE.

Stargate Governance 101:
Why is our school run by elected parents? Charter schools are independent public schools with rigorous curriculum programs. Each charter school is different, thus offering parents a variety of choices so they can select the school that best fits their child's unique learning style. In exchange for operational freedom and flexibility, charter schools are subject to higher levels of accountability. Charter schools, which are tuition-free and open to all students, offer quality and choice in the public education system. Charter schools are unique public schools in that they have a board of directors at the school level, made up of members of the community as outlined in their Bylaws, where traditional public schools are governed by the local district's board of directors. Stargate School is a Charter School authorized by the Adams 12 School District but managed by its own elected Board of Directors.
