"In case you missed it": The latest business meeting of the Board was held on January 9th. For those not able to attend, here are some highlights: The Board received an operational update from Acting Head of School Josh Cochran concerning options for additional security measures to the existing Safety Plan and agreed that a focus group of concerned community members would work to submit workable options with cost estimates at the next Board business meeting, reviewed and approved the survey questions for the school climate surveys, and reviewed the proposed policy for recognition of Colorado Gifted/Talented endorsement for faculty. In addition, the Board had its retreat/strategic planning session on January 18th where they participated in team building, reviewed the school strategic plan, and reviewed proposed communication pathways.

Why does the board have a retreat? At least once per year it is both required and vital for the Governing Board to schedule structured time together to improve teamwork and build trust, collaborate with the administration to update and refine Stargate's strategic plan, and to build momentum in progressing the school's strategic goals.
