News from the Board:
"In case you missed it": The Board met on November 20th for its regular monthly business meeting.  During the meeting they were presented with examples from the 5/6 team of a recent student project, reviewed and approved the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) required by the District, reviewed and approved the questions and timeline for the annual community and staff satisfaction surveys, received an update on the incredible Bingo night event hosted by the Community Relations Committee, reviewed and approved the financial audit, discussed fundraising participation data, reviewed and approved the contract agreement for renewing the charter, and discussed the status of the high school investigation activities.

On December 4th, the Stargate Administration, along with support from the Governance Board, presented information to the Adams 12 Board and Superintendent to request approval of the first ever expedited renewal of our charter agreement.  The Adams 12 Board unanimously approved the contract renewal for another five years.  Our School's strong student achievement, consistently stable financials, and the Board's work to increase transparency and collaboration were all measures of success used to finalize the agreement.  Congratulations Stargate!

Upcoming Board Meetings:

December 18th: Business Meeting at 6:30 PM at Stargate

January 15th: Business Meeting at 6:30 PM at Stargate - High School Discussion

Stargate Governance 101:

Why is Stargate considering expanding to a high school?  The Administration and Board are working together, along with a dedicated group of parent volunteers, to investigate the option of expanding our school through 12th grade.  Many of our students are finding that traditional high schools may not be challenging enough or they are not able to meet their unique gifted needs.  Please join the Board on January 15th at the regular business meeting to discuss the recommendations of the investigation committee on whether or not to start moving forward with plans for a high school expansion.
