News from the Board:
"In case you missed it": The Board met on October 21st for it's monthly business meeting. They reviewed the financial status of the campus expansion and agreed to change the financial reserve to 20% to be in line with other charter schools and free additional cash for use on the expansion project, agreed to a loan to the Stargate Foundation to ensure the Field House construction can continue, discussed current offers on the existing building, approved the Unified Improvement Plan that will be submitted to the District, updated the Election policy to address when and how to do a run-off election, approved the annual campaign letter, discussed options for corporate sponsorship, recognized the newly formed Recruiting Committee, finalized each of the committee goals for the year, set a schedule for committee charter updates, and approved the strategic plan for 2015-2016 (you can find the the strategic plan here, the committee goals here, or go to the forms and files page on the governance website).

Stargate Governance 101:
How does the Adams 12 School Board impact Stargate? Because Stargate is a Charter School, we have our own governance structure that is independent from the District. However, our school is authorized through the Adams 12 School District and we are still subject to many of the policies set up by the District. Stargate and Adams 12 work very well together in part because of our fostered relationship with the Adams 12 Board of Directors.
