"In case you missed it": The Board last met on October 15th for a regular business meeting where they recognized the newly elected parent members of the Accountability Committee, appointed staff members Katie Bolger and Amber Butler to the Accountability Committee and acknowledged the new parent co-chair Jeff Waggoner and staff co-chairs Camille Ross and Amber Butler; thanked the Community Relations Committee for their support of the staff during the parent/teacher conferences; reviewed the election statistics; received an update of the school financials, including a discussion of the High School financing plan; reviewed the preliminary audit results; introduced a resolution to support the High School financials; discussed potential grant opportunities from corporations as well as directed the finance committee to provide a recommendation, along with the administration, for spending current grant money; discussed board and committee training requirements; and continued to discuss the need to update the Bylaws in preparation for the High School.
Upcoming Board Meetings:
November 19th: Business Meeting at 6:30 PM at Stargate
December 17th:  Business Meeting at 6:30 PM at Stargate

Stargate Governance 101:
Why is the Board reviewing the Bylaws? With the plans for the new High School on track to start our first 9th grade class next year, the Bylaws will need to be updated to reflect the school expansion. Over the next few months, the Board will be discussing potential changes that will be needed for the expansion and will be reaching out to the community for comment and official voting.

If you have a question for the board, please send an email to governance@stargateschool.org.

Board Thank You:
A BIG thank you from the Board to the Finance Committee. They worked quickly to support the financial audit and review the resolution for kicking off the bond payment terms for the High School.
