News from the Board:

"In case you missed it": In an effort to provide better communication to the stakeholders, the Board chose to use the school curriculum nights to provide the required "Stakeholders" information during the fall.  Board members were available before, during and after the teacher meetings to answer questions and show the goals for the year.  The brochure and the presentation that were available those evenings have been posted to the governance website (or you can click on the embedded links).  The brochure gave an overview of the accomplishments of the board from last year as well as the goals for this year.  In addition, it tied the Stargate Mission to the strategic plan.  We would love your feedback on the material and the format of "meet the Board" instead of the traditional Board meeting and presentation.

Upcoming Board Meetings:

September 18th: Business Meeting at 6:30 PM at Stargate

October 16th: Business Meeting at 6:30 PM at Stargate

November 20th:  Business Meeting at 6:30 PM at Stargate

Stargate Governance 101:

What does it mean to be a Charter School?  A Charter School is a public school governed by a group of parents and/or community members.  Stargate’s charter is a contract between the school community and Adams 12 Five Star School District. The contract terms require periodic renewal involving a Colorado School Support Initiative (CSSI) assessment by a state recognized third-party. The charter contract also Includes waivers that provide autonomy, but limits the use of district resources, teacher negotiated salary and select funding sources.
