Hello Stargate Community, I am very sorry to announce Taylor Johnson's resignation from the Stargate Governance Board of Directors effective October 31, 2018. We are grateful to Taylor for the time she devoted to working on the Board and her invaluable contributions to our school. According to our Bylaws, the Board must appoint a new member within 30 days to serve until the next election. Interested applicants should complete the online application (found HERE) no later than Monday, November 12. As part of the process, all of those that apply will be interviewed by the Board during the next Board meeting. The Board will make a formal appointment by a majority vote at the Board Business meeting on Wednesday, November 28th at 6:00 PM. Note that if there are more than 3 applicants, the Board may schedule a separate meeting for conducting the interviews before the November 28th meeting, if candidate and Board member scheduling allows. The appointed applicant will serve until the next election (May 2019). Job Description Purpose: To serve the Board of Directors for Stargate Charter School as a voting member, to develop policies for the operation of the organization, to monitor and evaluate its finances, programs and performance. Time Requirement: Typically 10-12 hours per month, but can require more time when time sensitive issues arise. It includes board meetings, required training, events, committee meetings, and outside preparation time.
