Administration proposed the purchase of three busses for Stargate’s exclusive use. There is currently a shortage of transportation resources available from Adams 12 which makes scheduling field trips much more difficult. It is also possible that Stargate could operate the three busses in the morning and afternoon as a means of collecting Stargate students from the east, west, and south. This plan could be a valuable convenience to the community as well as help to ameliorate the current congestion in The Loop and parking lots at drop off and pickup times.

The working group decided to leave this project off the list of recommendations at this time. The group feels that the idea needs more study to affirm the demand for transportation to and from school, to ensure that budget exists to employ certified bus drivers as will be required, and to evaluate whether purchasing busses is financially preferable to an exclusive lease or to continuing as we currently are.
