Board Information


The Stargate School Board of Directors is elected by, and represents, the members of the Stargate Community. Board members set the general direction and policy of the school, with a focus on longer term and “big picture” issues. The board is responsible for the Stargate budget, review of the annual audit and evaluation of the school's executive director, as well as compensation, policy approval and corporate level sponsorships. 

Contacting the Board

When considering contacting a Board member, please remember Stargate’s Communication Pathways. If you have a school-related, classroom or child-related concern:
  • First, set an appointment and meet with the teacher. Most issues can usually be handled satisfactorily with your child’s teacher.
  • Depending upon the situation, a visit to the team leader may be appropriate.
  • If the issue is not resolved, set an appointment and meet with either the Assistant Principal or Head of School.
  • If the issue is still not resolved, please contact the Board Chair in writing to determine whether the issue is appropriate for Board consideration.

Open Forum Meetings

Board meetings are open to all Stargate community members and the public. Board meetings offer an excellent opportunity for the Stargate community to understand the issues, future plans, and vision for our school. A typical Board Meeting Business Session Agenda generally consists of the following: Approval of Minutes, Committee Reports, Financial Review, Administrative Reports, and Executive Session (if needed).

Meeting Times

The board generally meets once per month, the third Wednesday of each month.  The board meets at the school.   Meetings are open to the public.  We welcome your attendance and participation at these important meetings.
